Can’t Study, WBUT Routine

My exams start on 4th of June. The schedule is as follows.

Date Day Subject
4 June Thursday Analog Curcuits
8 June Monday Digital Electronic Cicuits
10 June Wednesday Communication
12 June Friday EM Theory
16 June Tuesday Micro And OptoElectromics

You can download the schedule for all the Streams here

Among these, Digital Electronics is the only moderately easy subject. All other are pretty screwy. I just can’t seem to study these days. The haunting feeling is settling in, but the urge to study is missing. Wonder what everyone else is up to

Wake Up, Fellas, to Global Warming

So every year comes with a new highest temperature record, did you notice? Have you noticed that winters are colder than they used to be. Rain hops in on the wrong time, there is a change of weather all over the country. If you ever spend some time thinking about these things, you will suddenly notice how much radical the change is. Plus there were two cyclones recently in West Bengal and there haven’t been such winds for almost 28 years. See the point?

Many people think Global Warming is a long term thing and we’ve got 50 years full time. That’s half true. Global Warming is a long term thing, but the long term is about to end. Its started…the climate change, the heating has all started. We have got 50 years till everything becomes unbearable, but that won’t happen suddenly. World Weather will worsen over time and by around 50 years it will be so bad, no one would be able to stand it. And its started guys. If you were waiting for a wake-up call, here it is wakeup to Global Warming. You know what you need to do. I won’t preach you with it. All I want to say here are thise two little magical words

SWITCH OFF!!

The Nose of the Storm

I posted about being stuck in the storm for a long time. It appears, I wasn’t the only one and the storm has had a worse impact than merely being a pain in the ass. No electricity here still. I went on the rounds of the city yesterday and shot some pictures…just to put things into perspective

Its worse in Kolkata and more so in Bangladesh. 32 people have died in West Bengal according to Time Of India.

God Rest their souls

Stuck in the storm

I was stuck in a storm today for 2 hours. It so happned that we had our practicals today(Digital Electronics) and so even though it was raining in the morning, I had to go nevertheless. Anyways, so even after the storm started to grow bad, the stupid teachers decided to take the exam anyways. So they took it, but the storm grew worse and well we had to come back. They kept the exams on anyways…Now by the time it was all over, the storm was raging outside. Crashing windows and filling the college with water and stuff.
After some time, the weather mellowed and I decided to make a break for it. We got into Surajit’s car and he dropped me at the bus stop. Now there was an auto, some talking and an hour later, I finally managed to get a bus. I left Arijit Da behind though. Feel really miserable about it

The status quo is that we have no electricity, the house’s running on a local generator service which blacks us all out at 1130 in the night. And I don’t think its coming back for a long long time

Update: The storm has mellowed, but no electricity yet

Okay Now and again!

I think I am going to start back in full swing about posting on my life.

Since I haven’t done that in a long time. Plus I lost a lot of posts to Kwix’s server crash among other things

A quick update. Where I left off:

I am in JIS College of Engineering nowadays. I have completed almost two years here. JIS College by the way is a stupid college with uniforms. If you are a fan of mine, don’t join this college just becauser of me, please, it sucks.

Wordpress 2.8 beta released

Wordpress 2.8 Beta 1 has been released for public testing. The wordpress site claims it has a million new features. Though most of these new features are removal of older features, some features are indeed welcome additions. One of the brand new features is the revamp of the widgets section. Though to be fair, i did not notice any grand changes. Little fixes here and there. Most changes in the release are mostly removal of features. I’ve put up a test site(http://somesh.info/test/) with username admin and password apassword
Check it out, explore the site. Make changes. Add posts. Do whatever you like
FYI: Here’s a list of changes can be found here.
